One of my favorite sounds is when the force of a knee touches the ground in reverence of God.

I look forward to the beautiful reminder of God’s greatness at every Mass when the priest genuflects towards the Most Blessed Sacrament and his knee makes contact with the Altar letting a thump be heard throughout the silently worshiping Church.

“There God has highly exalted him and bestowed upon him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…” Philippians 2:9-10
