Handmade Baptismal Gown by Mama
Our daughter’s Baptism ended up being a little extra special thanks to the Lord and my determination to make her Baptismal gown myself 😂
The most important Sacrament for the salvation of souls is Baptism. The cleansing from sin, the new life as a child of God in our Catholic Faith, and the incredible graces she received in the first of her Sacraments.
She was Baptized on the feast of All Saints Day! Such a cool day to have joined the Church! Definitely added a specialness to the day to celebrate the Sainthood of so many great role models and have our beloved little saint in the making start her journey in the Catholic Church on the same day!
I was a bit out of my mind when at over 40 weeks pregnant I did most of the sewing for her Baptismal gown 🙃.
I did finish before she was born and while there were many mistakes and some things I wish I had done differently I impressed myself with my first finished dress! I did not follow a pattern and spent many late night hours thinking of how I would do certain parts 🥴 definitely lots of learning and frustration in the process. The gown is a little extra special as I made it from extra lace from my wedding dress and a table cloth from our wedding. The decade beads are extras from our wedding Lasso. The gown came out lovely and she was only slightly swimming in it 😂.
