“I look at Him and He looks at me”
I have always loved the story from St. John Vianney of the farmer, who when questioned on what he does while he sits in Adoration, says “I look at Him and He looks at me.” In hearing those words, I realized why I loved going to Adoration so much. It is my time with Jesus. Each and everytime I go to Adoration I just look at Jesus for awhile.
I usually spend time reading, praying, and just talking to Jesus when I go to Adoration, but my favorite part is the moments I just look at Jesus. Inside the Monstrance, in His gold throne, He is there with me.
It may be greedy of me, but I like being alone with Jesus. Of course the breath of those I love being in the room or strangers in united adoring worship of Christ add to the beauty of Adoration, but when I walk into an empty Church I feel a peace and comfort knowing He is mine and I am His.
