Student Comments: Part Two
A short addition to my Student Comments post:
- “If I shoot a pig for survival on Minecraft is that still bad?”
- In admiration of my circle cutting technique, while slowly shaking his head my current favorite student looked at me and said, “Genius… genius…” – 8 year old
- In reference to his newly born brother, who he was beyond excited to talk about: “But I don’t like it (the baby), because I didn’t sleep at all.” – 8 year old. In response to that remark the young lady seated by the new big brother stated, “Babies cry. It is all that they are made for.” – an 8 year old who doats on her younger sister. Sometimes our love has its moments of struggle. I did have to face the wall to contain my desire to laugh during the conversation that followed these remarks.
- While I was displaying my years of experience playing matching games to my students during a lively round of Altar objects matching, there were sounds of admiration followed by a “She’s got power!” I did have to repeatedly deny pre-looking at the cards, seeing through them, and other forms of cheating. I did so with pride and felt flattered at each accusation. To think I used to go easy on them.
Kids are fun.
Sometimes children humble you, but they can also build my ego to a dangerous level.
