A proud 9 year old in reference to abstaining on Friday’s during in lent: “Oh, ya, we did that this week. That is why we did not eat pork, instead we eat chicken!”

After challenging them to try to abstain on Fridays: 8 year old “Wait does chicken count?” Upon hearing confirmation, that chicken does indeed count as eating meat, the young lady responded (in the most dramatically dejected manner possible), “Oh no, I can’t do that… I eat chicken everyday… it is my favorite.”

8 year old: “My dad gave up soda, cause he is too fat”

Apparently the classification of chicken as a meat is causing a significant amount of confusion for the young ones.
